7:00 : Yuwen Yue notice Chu Qiao left secretly, and chased after her. He warns her that Yanxun's plans is evil and she will regret it. She says she won't.

12:50 : King received news of Yanxun's rebellion, and is currently creating chaos outside the palace in Chang An. The guard informs everyone it is not safe to leave the palace. Another messenger comes and reports Princess Chun Er is missing. The guard begs the King to react quickly.

18:00 : Princess Chun Er finds Yanxun and expresses her desire to not marry him anymore. She ask him to stop his actions and to ask her father for forgiveness. Her brother arrives and is disappointed in the events. He realizes friendship among him, Chu Qiao, and Yanxun is not possible. They had stated they are against Da Wei. The brother tore off his red cloth and cut off his ties with Yanxun and Chu Qiao. Yan Xun says he will not kill him to express his gratitude for the brother's kindness he had shown him

28:37 : Yanxun wants to get rid of Shangwu House as it develops future leaders and talents of Wei nation. Killing everyone would mean Da Wei would weaken their power as they would lose talented individuals to govern the nation in the future.

29:46 : Yuwen Yue predicted Yanxun will try to slaughter Shangwu House, and rushes there to protect them. Yanxun notes that Yuwen Yue saved him 3 years ago. In return, will not slaughter Shangwu House and leaves.

32:00 : Yanxun instructs Xiu Li army to stay behind to block the opposing army as he rushes to another section. When he gives the signal, the Xiu Li army will then retreat. Xiu Li army stand put as defense to block Da Wei's army.

33:05 : Zhongyu tells Chu Qiao this is the only bridge and it will be destroyed once Yanxun and his men arrives

33:38 : Yanxun announces Xiu Li army will stay behind and instructed the people to shut off the gate with a dead lock.

34:25 : Xiu Li army is devastated and wonders why the signal to retreat has not happen yet. Under desperation, they start retreating themselves and finds the gate locked. They believe they were abandon, but doesn't believe Chu Qiao has abandoned them. They stand to fight for survival.

Thoughts and what to expect

I think the main focus on this chapter is the changing heart of Chu Qiao, as she is slowly learning how Yanxu has changed. Let's not forget that this story is about her and not any other characters. Princess is a bit silly and it's about to change. Here we see her first murder, signifying an important turning point for the princess as well. She has gone from innocent to innocently stained with blood.

Another part that stands out is that Yanxun intends to kill Yuwen Yue. He acknowledges his deeds towards him 3 years ago and repaid it today by not slaughtering the house. AKA, he no longer owes him anything in the future and will plot to kill him.

There are several sections I do not like about the script. 1st, Princess Chun Er existence is unrealistic. This character is non-existent in any good military/strategy stories. 2nd, the entire situation with how Yanxun terrorized Chang An is unrealistic. The strategy is completely off. Let's start with, how do you take control of the capital with just a small group of men. Part 2, the king's most trusted general is the Prince who was assigned to protect Da Liang prince on his journey back to Da Liang. This was completely stupid because the Da Liang prince was on the road for 6 months without any protection. Moreover, the king needs his most trusted men at the moment for defense and protection against Yan Xun. A minor general can be sent to protect the Da Liang prince. Or if they must insist on a general, it can be Yuwen Yue or even Chu Qiao.

Another section that annoyed me was inconsistency with character strengths and weakness. Yuwen Yue was so good in obliterating the Da Liang Princess Xiao Yu's forces. He foresee Yanxun's plans and understand how evil it is and he just sit back and watched it happened. Such loyal person he is. Isn't he suppose to be the most powerful?

What also threw me off was Yuwen Yue was holding the Tiger Tally. Army leader authority shouling?!!! Ok yes maybe the king just handed it to you. Normally, you would quickly discuss the plan of action where ever he received the tiger authority. Then, you would send the most capable and fastest messengers that can reach the army to inform them the strategy/defense instructions. This is ideal because a horde of people makes it inconvenient to travel and also creates too much attention. This can attract Yanxun's men to quickly kill off the messengers before alerting the defense army to come. I just also like how all the men left Yuwen Yue to go against an army. He didn't even bring 2 guards. Well, this is drama.

Every government official has an object which represent their authority, power, position. It's like an ID to explain who you are in a typical work environment. If they are removed from office, this object is given to whoever assumes the position. The tiger tally is an object gives power to whoever holds it as the ultimate general in command. It is frequently held in the King's possession or it can be given to his most trusted general. This position can mobilize any troops and forces and reports directly under the King. Tiger is used as a representation because it is thought to be the most powerful in terms of combat. This is frequently used in most historic dramas.
