Qing Chen returns Yuan Zhan's family valuable back time and rejects his interest in her. Angry, Yuan Zhan scolds his wife and officially draws a line between him and his 2nd wife. Later at night, the 12th prince snuck into the medic center and was caught by Qing Chen. Qing Chen overpowered the 12th prince, and he had to use the powers of a magic rock to help him escape. Qing Chen wonders where did his magic powers came from.

Minister Feng knows that Qing Chen is a complicated woman as she has the attention of 3 princes. Yuan Zhan helps Qing Chen meets Minister Feng despite Yuan Ling's warning not to do so. When Minister Feng saw the tattoo on the girl, he immediately knows that she is not his daughter, but since she wants to play with him and his family, he will join the game. Qing Chen officially gets recognized by the King as the 2nd daughter and was granted the title of Qing Ping Jun Zhu (Royal Lady Qing Ping).

Qing Ping moves into Minister Feng's house and starts observing where everything is, especially Feng Xian Wu's memorial room. Meanwhile, Yuan Ling spends time to reject Duo Xia Princess a second time. Feng family has a dinner reunion to celebrate Qing Chen's return. That same night, she sneaks into Feng Xian Wu's room and notice a scroll with odd language on it. Suddenly, Feng Luan Fei comes in and talks to her sister. She says "Why did everyone claim you suddenly died from a sickness? What actually happened in the past? Can brother-in-law forget the past and value the people in front of him?"

Mr. Mo's apprentice tells Qing Chen about the case concerning the Queen's death in the past. The king summoned the Wu clan to investigate the Queen's death and to identify where Xi Xie Elder (Qing Chen's master elder) had gone. Tang Yao Elder defended Xi Xie saying he was summoned secretly into the palace by the Queen. Thus, it would not be logical for him to kill her publicly in the palace.

Crown Prince warns Yuan Ling to accept Duo Xia Princess marriage. He insist on not committing. He meets with Qing Chen, and she ask about Yuan Ling's mother. He came to tell her that the wife he wants is Qing Chen, and she says her heart already has someone else. The next day, the king punishes Yuan Ling for refusing the marriage proposal between Ah Chai country and Da Wei. Minister Feng later mentions Yuan Ling's punishment to Qing Chen. Just when Duo Xia Princess gave up and was about to return to her country, Qing Chen meets with her and advised her how to save Yuan Ling from punishment and a method to allow her to marry into his household.

The 9th prince visits Minister Feng's house every 10 days, and Qing Chen uses this opportunity to cast a delusional spell on him to make him confess everything he knows about his wife's death. He tells her that Minister Feng says that his daughter conspire to kill the queen and stops all investigation from progressing. The prince knows his wife left him a clue but was unable to find it. Qing Chen finds a scented fragrance pouch which emits the same scent as the palace maid who knows the 3rd prince and had disappeared many years ago. She wonders what the 9th prince relationship is with the Dark Wu sorcerers. The Minister Feng is suspecting that Qing Chen caused the prince to think his wife came back and stir up trouble.

The 7th prince, Duo Xia Princess, and 11th prince ask the king for mercy and allow the 4th prince to select his wife based on standard selection process. The king agreed. Yuan Ling meets with 7th prince and says he knows Yuan Zhan helped him because he's trying to gain Qing Chen's favor and understands she wants to save Yuan Ling. Qing Chen tells Duo Xia to take advantage of the opportunity and become Yuan Ling's first wife. She thanks Qing Chen and welcomes her to a friendly competition for the position; however, Qing Chen expressed her refusal. Yuan Ling finds out it was Qing Chen who had Duo Xia come plea the king.

Minister Feng meets with a woman named Ding Shui who took a new identity and had to kill the Queen to keep her identity in secret. It was Minister Feng who killed his own daughter to cover up their scandal. They want to use Qing Chen to lure out Tang Yao Elder and kill her. Qing Chen finds out the 9th prince is skillful in disguises, and that Feng Xian Wu was studying a medicine book written in Central China language called Xiyu before she died. Qing Chen draws out the book title and have them find it.

The 4th prince ask his mother about the past whether she know about a Wu elder named Ding Shui, but she denies and says she only knows there are 2 elders. She only remembers that on the day of the queen's murder, she ran into Feng Xian Wu who had a special red color on her fingers, and the royal doctors identified the cause of the queen's death to be Wu clan's special poison. Mr. Mo's assistant tells Qing Chen about the poison that killed the queen and gives her the scroll Qing Chen was looking for. Qing Chen has a sudden realization that the smudges on the Xian Wu's mirror are not smudges, but in fact the clues to the scroll. The scroll then points out the actual clues to find the evidence.

The 4th prince awaits outside of Minister Feng's house for an intruder. An intruder barges into Qing Chen's room and destroy's Feng Xian Wu's mirror . Qing Chen immediately knows it's Ding Shui Elder. Yuan Ling chases after the elder to track her whereabouts, but she disappeared into the royal household female section. All men and outsiders are restricted from this area. Yuan Ling quickly reports to the king that the person had disappeared into the royal family area and receives permission to warrant a search. Qing Chen notices that the person disappeared around where Yuan Ling's mother lives.

Ding Shui has a flash back to the scene of the Queen's death. At the time, Ding Shui had used dark wu magic to change her physical appearance; however, she was unable to control it causing her original appearance to resurface while she was at the royal family's memorial room. The Queen had walked in on her and had seen she was Ding Shui elder from the Wu clan. To keep her identity from being exposed, Ding Shui killed the Queen.

Ding Shui reveals herself to Xi Xie Elder, who is held in captive. In the past, Ding Shui fell in love with the previous king and insist on being with the king. She faked her death in the examination to break away from the Wu clan and changed her identity to stay beside the king. But because of the fate that Wu family cannot marry into the royal family, the previous king ultimately suffered a tragedy and died. She is using dark wu powers to revenge on the dead king. Xi Xie Elder states that she was the cause for the calamity.

Qing Chen specifically visits Yuan Ling and tells him to be careful of Ding Shui and he should double check on his mother since she rarely leaves the palace. This can be a good place for Ding Shui to hide. Yuan Ling ask her to be careful an do not enter into risky situations again.

Yuan Ce escorts Qing Chen back home and tells her that Yuan Ling actually likes her. She understands but will not accept it. After he leaves, she sits on the steps reflecting her ill fate while Yuan Ling watches from afar.

The elder used dark wu magic and one of the rocks of 9 reversals to create a replica of herself. The replica will be used to mislead everyone and hide her identity as Ding Shui. Xi Xie Elder warns her that if the replica dies on her behalf, then her magic powers will be weaken by 50%. She also creates a replica of Xi Xie Elder to fake his death and stop the search for his rescue.

Qing Chen meanwhile conspires with the 9th prince to lure Ding Shui Elder to show up on the Queen's memorial ceremony. She manipulated his alliance knowing that he truly loves his wife and wants to bring justice to her death. He does not really care which side will win as long the truth behind his wife's death is revealed. Ding Shui Elder intends to take the ceremony as an opportunity to kill Tang Yao Elder.

The night before the ceremony, Yuan Zhan gives an accessory symbol to Qing Chen as he knows that they are up to something risky in the palace tomorrow. This symbol will utilize Yuan Zhan's men in the palace army to save her life in desperate times. The next day at the ceremony, the king specifically removed all unnecessary people and purposely allow Minister Feng's family to participate in order to monitor Qing Chen. Once everyone is inside, Wu clan revealed themselves and ask for the king to re-investigate the queen's death. Qing Chen runs up and says her elder sister died suddenly on the same day after she returned from the palace. The 9th prince supports her by demanding to know the truth behind his wife's death. Everyone around the king supported the re-investigation and the king is angry that they are all implying his original decision is wrong.

Tang Yao Elder takes a letter written by the Queen to Xi Xie Elder right before her death. It was to quickly summon him to the palace as she had discovered Ding Shui hidden in the palace. At this time, Ding Shui uses her replica to start a fight in her royal house, and Mr. Mo's apprentice rushes in to keep her in control. Everyone rushes to the scene. The replica admits to her crimes and rises up to attack Qing Chen. (This part was confusing because it does not show she specifically targeted Qing Chen) Yuan Ling rushes up and defends Qing Chen with his life. He manages to kill the elder and suffers a severe injury. Yuan Zhan stops Qing Chen from exposing her identity by holding her back from using her powers.

Tao Yang elder picks up a rock from the replica corpse and saves Yuan Ling's life. Qing Chen is very upset and sits besides Yuan Ling. She promises not to push him away again if he wakes up.

Chapter 21

While Qing Chen says her official goodbye, Yuan Zhan ask if she can take him with her too. She takes out the Yuan family valuable and returns it back to him. Yuan Zhan immediately recognizes the box and says he will only take the money back. She refuses, and Yuan Zhan asks her what is it that she wants? She says she only wants to have days to live by.

Yuan Zhan, disappointed and angry, takes the box and scolds his 2nd wife. She apologizes and tells him that she only wants him to be happy. Yuan Zhan is angry at his wife for not knowing what she did wrong. He doesn't care about her whereabouts anymore and that she only needs to fulfill her duties as the 2nd wife.

The 12th prince snuck into the medic center and was caught by Qing Chen. In the middle of the fight, she ripped off his belt and his personal jade accessory fell out. He then used Wu powers to form a shield for him to escape. Qing Chen picks up the jade and wonders which palace figure is he. Turns out it was the 12th prince, and he has one of the rocks of 9 reversals.

Yuan Ling meets with Qing Chen and exposes her strategy in imposing as the 2nd daughter of Feng family. She puts up a front and denies his accusations. She says she is only trying to reunite with her family. He says that 2nd daughter is definitely not a Wu clan member, and only by getting close to Feng family will she have an easier opportunity to get close to the king. He ask "what happen if I expose your identity as Wu member?" She says she will then just commit suicide to save her clan. She then use an excuse that a girl with no background cannot marry into Zhan Wang's house. But an identity as Feng family's 2nd daughter, then she has qualifications to marry Yuan Zhan. Pissed off, Yuan Zhan says he understands and walks off

Minister Feng is checking the background on Qing Chen, and knows that she is most likely not his daughter. If she is, then he will actually save her. Otherwise, he will teach her a lesson. This father and daughter act he must play with it to the end. A woman spinning among the 4th prince, 7th prince, and 9th prince is a complicated woman.

Tang Yao Elder, Mr. Mo, his assistant, and Qing Chen have a meeting. Mr. Mo warns Qing Chen Minister Feng is tricky to deal with. Tang Yao Elder mentions that the butterfly that she imprinted on her skin can never be removed. (this seems to be a hint for something bigger later on) Qing Chen understands and then switch topic to a jade accessory she found on an attacker. Mr. Mo assistant immediately points out it belongs to the 12th prince and she sees it on him every day. They will not start investigating the prince

Minister Feng reports to the king that he found his daughter and introduces her. The king recognizes that she helped with the case of Tian Wu Zui Fang, and that she is managing the medic center. Qing Chen says she is only trying her best to treat the sick and heal their hearts by teaching them knowledge. The king likes her and bestow her the title of Qing Ping Jun Zhu (Jun Zhu is a noble/royal lady within the royal bloodline).

Everyone immediately finds out that she has been given the title of Qing ping Jun Zhu. Particularly Prince # 7 wishes to have Qing Chen as a replacement for his wife. Though if she harms him, then he will kill her. Meanwhile, Ah Chai country is being pressured by Liang country and the king sends a message to Wei king to quickly make a decision.

Chapter 29

Cai Xian hides herself because she is upset that she cannot be one of the candidates for Yuan Ling's first wife. Yuan Che finds her, and disheartened by her tears, he agrees to help her be part of the selection. He meets with the 7th and 4th prince, and the 7th prince refuses because he rather her live happily. 4th prince is confused and ask the 7th prince why would he do this if he likes her. The 7th prince says he rather see her happy and that is the most important to him

At the first round of selection, the girls have to demonstrate their sewing skills. Qing Chen sewed a magnificent scene of lands and water. She explained it's to hope Yuan Ling will be a good leader / government official that is loved by the citizens. It is also to hope that he will return safely from battle each time. Duo Xia sewed a fox, and she explains that she is someone who finds their love and follow forever always. Cai Xian sewed turtles onto a men's belt. Yuan Ling picks it up and laughs and asked her why she had sewn a "bastard" onto the belt. Everyone laughs. (In China, turtles are recognized as being useless and generally used a symbol of useless people or bastards or people you just hate). She defends herself by saying "Noo, it's a longevity turtle. It's for long life!"

7th prince, 4th prince, Mr.Mo, and crown prince discusses the results of the first round. Everyone thinks Qing Chen is the winner, however, 7th prince pointed out her artwork means giving the nation to Yuan Ling, and this is treasonous towards the king. She cannot win this round or else the King will suspect Yuan Ling of high treason. Duo Xia is the next up winner. They discuss the next round of martial arts.

In the martial arts round, the 12th prince runs around and make best who will win between Cai Xian and Duo Xia. He bets on Cai Xian and the crown prince bets on Duo Xia. He runs to the 4th prince and ask him who he thinks will win, and he says the winner can possibly be someone else. The 7th prince listens to the sentence and takes notes of the 4th prince love for Qing Chen, and also acknowledges she can very well win this match. Duo Xia wins against Cai Xian and Qing Chen wins against Duo Xia.

The 12th prince purposely interrupts Qing Chen and Mr. Mo's apprentice. He scolds the apprentice that Qing Chen has already entered into the contest, an he should not try to win her over. Qing Chen laughs and says that he doesn't know something and he should open his eyes widely and take a look. Meanwhile, the crown prince talks to the 7th prince to discuss something that is in his mind. He mentions that Qing Chen use to live in the 7th prince household, and indirectly infers whether she is a spy that is to be planted next to Yuan Ling. He says that the outcome of the competition needs only to be based on procedures and believes the procedures will bring a fair result. He doesn't answer the crown prince who he thinks will win and says he's not good in predicting the result.

Chapter 30

In the 3rd round, the competition is based on conduct and how the girl presents herself. I'm not sure how, but Cai Xian wins and the show doesn't demonstrate how she wins. The prince discuss the results again and the top 2 candidates are Duo Xia and Qing Chen. Even though Cai Xian won 1 round, she is not comparable because she performed horribly in the other 2 rounds.

The princes have a hard time figuring out what they should compete on. The 12th prince runs up and says why don't you guys compete on something interesting. He suggested to compete on drinking! Yuan Ling knows Qing Chen's drinking tolerance is exceptionally weak and runs up to be against it. He says it's a bad idea, but everyone agreed to it. He cannot do anything except sit and watch the show. Qing Chen wins and was the last one to get drunk.

Yuan Ling talks to her in private and ask her why she put so much effort in the competition. He says that she is the only one who is his Ling Wang Fei (1st wife of Prince Ling). She put so much effort to get the position, but she feels Duo Xia is a better match for him. He says "so you are scared so that's why you put so much effort?" She says she is not afraid and she has someone else. In the middle of talking, she kisses him and sees an omen of the future where Ling Wang is ambushed in Li Jing Tian.

Yuan Zhan is sad and plays his flute in his household. His servant comes and says that Minister Feng household returned the hangover flower drink/soup that he sent out to Qing Chen and that it was the will of Qing Chen. He wonders if the day it was him who blocked Ding Shui's attack would today's result be different. He steps out to walk out to understand her motives. She is afraid of feeling guilty towards Yuan Zhan, and is being heartless in setting a boundary is to not owe him too much. If she is to follow Yuan Ling, he will not block her. But Yuan Ling is the goal of Duo Xia, and he will not be able to marry Qing Chen. He will wait for this moment and use all his abilities to bring Qing Chen back into his household.

The king discusses the result of the 2 countries and the marriage. The king is conflicted as based on procedures, Yuan Ling now has the final say to who is bride is to be. They don't want to offend the other country. Yuan Zhan says that the princess was attracted to Yuan Ling's abilities. Maybe, it's because she has not been in contact with other princes. Maybe have her participate in the annual royal family performance for her to see every ability of all other royal princes. Maybe she will then let go of Yuan Ling and like another prince who is available. This event is to take place in Li Jing Tian

Qing Chen finds out about the event and that it takes place in Li Jing Tian. Worried, she meets with Yuan Ling and warns him that she saw an omen that he is ambushed there and hopes he will not participate. He says he will take every attack that comes at him and takes the opportunity to corner her in for a makeout session.

Meanwhile the princess try to understand the intent of the entire situation. Qing Chen tells her elder that the king is possibly annoyed at Wu clan for challenging his authority. For safety reasons, she will not reveal her identity as part of the Wu clan. On the prince side, they have a fight on who should marry Duo Xia Princess. The king ask for who took the first hit and no one confesses. Everyone just apologizes and everyone is punished.
